Choosing A Builder

There are many Builders in both the residential and commercial markets. However, not every Builder does the same thing.

There are small Builders, who work on only a small number of properties a year. There are volume Builders, who mass produce homes and there are custom Builders, who design and build homes to suit your requirements.

Some Builders only build new homes, whereas others will only build extensions and renovations, with a few who will do both. There is a volume building quality, middle market quality and an upper market quality.

As in life, you get what you pay for.

When considering a Builder, the things to consider are such things as:

  • does the Builder have a plan I like, or can they design a plan for me;
  • does the build plan include all of the items I require eg: double garage, air-conditioning, floor coverings, landscaping etc;
  • what items are included, or what items are classed as extras and may incur an additional cost;
  • how long approximately, will it take to build my home;
  • what experience does the Builder have?
  • how easy is the Builder and their office to contact, talk to and to understand?
  • am I clear about what I am getting for the price I am paying;

Now you can start to have fun designing your perfect home.
